Pakistan and Russia relations are now heading towards a direction where both the countries will work together in diverse fields. This strategic relationship will result in promoting regional activity. The history of the bilateral relations between Pakistan and Russia is marked with animosity and distrust. However, both countries are making efforts on their end to not let history repeat itself. To revive the bilateral relations the leaders of both countries are continuously holding talks with each other. This is also the reason behind PM Imran Khan’s historic visit to Russia marking the start of a new era of cooperation.
PM Imran Khan and the delegation
The strained relations between Pakistan and Russia in the past restricted the chances for the leaders of both countries to visit each other. But not anymore, currently PM Imran Khan is on a two-day visit to Russia. PM Imran Khan landed on Russian soil on February 23rd, 2022.
PM Imran Khan undertook the visit along with a delegation of high-level officials. Federal ministers Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Hammad Azhar, Asad Umar, Fawad Chaudhry, National Security Adviser Moeed Yusuf, National Assembly Member Amir Mahmood Kiani, and Commerce Adviser Razzak Dawood are a part of the delegation. When Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan along with these high-level officials are visiting Russia that means this visit is being considered very important.
