It has become a core Twitter theory that memes pop up whenever anything goes down. This time it was the internet itself. The internet disappeared due to a technical fault in the fiber optic across the country and netizens saw it as an opportunity for a meme fest.

Twitter’s spontaneous response to the Internet outage was also similar to that experienced in many parts of Pakistan, including the capital, Islamabad and the eastern city of Lahore, due to heavy rains and floods in these regions. While connectivity was a hindrance for most users, some even reported that Jazz, Pakistan’s largest telecommunications provider, was up and running during the entire outage.
In case you missed the meme fest, we’ve got you covered.
