HBL and mPOS
HBL has joined hands with Visa to launch another feature to expand the space of digitalization in Pakistan. The added feature called the mobile Point-of-Sales (mPOS) provides an additional option to the customers to make payments. Now you can save yourself from paying cash on delivery or payment through a card via a physical POS machine. Moreover, one big backdrop of payment through cards is the availability of the POS machine. Sometimes the option of payment through a card is not available also because it’s hard to carry the POS machine payment on delivery through a card is mostly not offered.
However, now the customers will be able to make payments through their smartphones. You just have to download the app and you are good to go. HBL and Visa’s Partnership
Visa’s Country Manager For Pakistan, Kamil Khan upon this partnership said “Smartphone penetration in Pakistan is tremendous, but there is still a large gap between the different payment options available to consumers for online and in-store purchases. Our partnership with HBL to launch the first mPOS solution in Pakistan aims to bridge this gap by enabling merchants of all sizes – whether large or mid-sized retailers, small stores, or street vendors – to offer digital payments to consumers when purchasing goods and services.
He further said “Moreover, this is a great opportunity for merchants to convert Cash-on-Delivery clients and combat last-mile challenges, and ultimately pave the way for more sales growth and revenue. This is another milestone in Pakistan’s journey to build a vibrant digital payments ecosystem, strengthen the eCommerce market, and transition to a cashless economy.”
Chief Innovation and Financial Inclusion Officer of HBL, Abrar Mir said “HBL takes pride in itself in empowering its clients by increasing their choices while accelerating the digitalization of the Pakistani economy. Our collaboration with VISA will directly benefit online shoppers, enabling them with a convenient payment solution. We believe that this partnership will further our digital growth, open new e-commerce avenues for both merchants and clients, and foster financial inclusion in Pakistan.”
This partnership is going to open new avenues in the e-commerce industry which will boost the economic growth of the country. Not only this, such innovations will accelerate the process of Pakistan’s digitization.
