Umar Gul has been appointed as Afghanistan’s bowling coach by the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB). He has already worked with the Afghan players in the UAE. He will coach for their tour of Zimbabwe.

Farewell Andrew Symonds (1975-2020)

He was two time World Cup winner in 2003 and 2007. He was also a key member of the test side.

He is currently busy with his schedule with Liverpool as a forward. The British press praised his presence at the ceremony to receive the Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year Award and appreciated his commitment. This is the second time he is receiving this award. He flew on a private plane to attend the ceremony. His coach Jurgen Klopp congratulated him via video message. He left immediately after the event.

Pakistan does not have many competitors in this sport. In Athens 2004 Olympics, Pakistani rider Nadeem Noon had a wild card entry but missed out on the spot because of his injured horse. The Melbourne-based Pakistani Usman Khan has the honor of becoming the first Pakistani Equestrian to compete internationally. He qualified for the 2006 Asian Olympics.

Pakistan has been improving its ranking over the past 1 year. In the latest ranking shared by ICC, Pakistan has replaced England in ODIs. Pakistan with 93 points has taken away England’s spot which has 88 points at the moment. It has retained its position at number 5 in Test rankings as well.

PCB has recently launched the Pathway Cricket Programme, of which the Junior League is a part. In this, PCB and its strategic partners which include BRB Group and Engro Corporation have agreed to provide the best facilities to the chosen 100 players. I will give them Rs. 30,000 as a monthly stipend along with free cricket equipment, coaches, and world-class institutions.
