Independence Day of Pakistan is one of the most important dates for the country. On this day, Pakistan became an independent country and appeared on the map of the world. The day is commemorated all around the country, and special celebrations are planned. Pakistanis remember the struggles of their ancestors who went through hell to secure an independent country for us. Where our country is filled with green and white colors on 14th August, the other countries also offer a diplomatic gesture by congratulating Pakistan on its independence. Back in 2018, Pakistan Ambassador to the United States, Ali Jehangir, hoisted the Pakistani flag at the Pakistan Embassy in Washington on the 14th of August. The hosting of the flag was followed by a commemorative event.
This year, there is a special event planned for the celebration of Pakistan’s Independence Day. Pakistan’s 76th Independence Day will be celebrated at Wembley Arena in London. The senior Pakistani diplomat and Trade and Investment Minister of Pakistan High Commission London, Shafiq Shahzad announced this news on Tuesday.
It was announced by UK-Pakistan Business Council (UKPBC) by Shafiq Shahzad. He further announced that thousands of people will be attending the event. It will be a ‘historic occasion’. The Pakistan diplomat for the UK said that the Pakistani government is celebrating Independence Day in a unique way. 14th August will be celebrated through different global events and London is one of the key cities where it will be celebrated.
“Pakistan Platinum Jubilee will be celebrated in style and Wembley Arena is the best place for this purpose,” said Shahzad. He further told the press that there will be many British Pakistanis, as well as European Pakistanis gracing the event with their presence.
The business and community leaders present at the press conference welcomed the idea given by UKPBC. The leaders estimated that over 10,000 people will attend the event. Various celebrities along with famous singers from Pakistan will attend the event.
An event like this bodes well for Pakistan’s diplomacy. Furthermore, it is also going to send a message to the world about the Pakistani nation’s patriotism.
