Pakistan And India Came To The Rescue Of Afghanistan

After so long both countries have touched base to help Afghanistan. This time culture did not bring them together but humanity did. News was out on January 24th, 2022 that Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan has permitted India to deliver humanitarian aid of 50,000 metric tons of wheat to Afghanistan via Pakistan’s territory.

Helen Keller ne kia khoob kaha hai

Alone we can do so little; together we can do so better

Pakistan and India are locked in a love/hate relationship since forever. Never a day goes by when we don’t witness brief skirmishes on twitter between both the countries. Nevertheless, in this case we are reminded of what Mike Hardy once said

Where political encounters create dividing void, culture makes room for understanding and dialogue

Hostility between Pakistan and India is deepening with each passing day yet; culture finds its way to mitigate the situation. Actors on both sides are often found praising each other’s talent and work. It is rightly said that ‘culture and art have no boundaries.’ Kuch dino pehle he Sushmita Sen and family dekhay gaye Daniyal Zafar k ganay par jhoomtay huay.

These efforts, little words of praise and kindness lessen the impact of rivalry between two countries. Werna jab information source Serena Kabul k 5th floor se arahi ho tau bhai! Maamla sangeen hai…

Ajeeb baat hai jab bhi Pakistan aur India ka aik hi jaga zikar aye tau pehla reaction hota hai ‘haye ab kia hogya!’

However, this time our reaction is ‘haye yeh kese hogya?’

Jee han! iss baar dono mulko ne jazbaat badal diye halaat badal diye. Pakistan has been aiding Afghanistan in many other areas as well, like relaxing visa duration, reviving bus service from Pakistan to Afghanistan (from Peshawar to Jalalabad) and all the efforts AICC is making every day to help Afghanistan in this dire situation. This step taken by Imran Khan is aimed at making the international community realize that solution to Afghanistan problem lies in collective humanitarian action.

Iss waqat Afghanistan ki madad krna hum sab ka farz hai. Khan sahab agay barhain hum ap k sath hain!

The lesson here is even if you are at odds with someone; you shouldn’t abandon the virtues of humanity, compassion and kindness. We hope and pray for a better and peaceful Afghanistan. If Pakistan and India can set aside their differences and work for the common good of Afghanistan and the region itself, then what is stopping other countries to do the same. Virtues like peace, humanity and kindness only carry effect when they are not just said but practiced as well. Zara sochiye!!!

We hope and pray for better days to come for Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, and the whole world for that matter. Let’s make our future generations proud!
