Eid Mubarak: Zoha Rehman’s shortfilm gets picked up by Disney

An Urdu-language live-action short film titled Eid Mubarak is based on the true childhood memories of its writer and director, Mahnoor Eucep. The short-film tells the story of a privileged Pakistani girl who has embarked on a mission to save her beloved pet goat from being sacrificed on Eid-ul-Azha.

With Disney’s Creator+ “Flip the Script” Short Film Fund purchasing her most recent short film Eid Mubarak, British-Pakistani performer Zoha Rahman has reached a significant professional milestone.

Zoha Rahman gained notoriety for her portrayal of a hijabi in Spider-Man: Far From Home as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The short-film tells the story of a privileged Pakistani girl who has embarked on a mission to save her beloved pet goat from being sacrificed on Eid-ul-Azha.

Eid Mubarak was filmed over the course of five days in Karachi, Pakistan in May 2022, with post-production taking place in Los Angeles, California.

The film will be screened on a well-known international platform as a result of its acquisition by Disney Creator+’s “Flip the Script” Short Film Fund, which will introduce the global Muslim experience to the Western mainstream and build bridges of understanding across cultures.

The film is set to premiere at the 18th Children’s Film Festival in Seattle in February 2023

She has also appeared in the Netflix series Young Wallander, the Apple TV series Foundation, the Bollywood film ’83, and a large number of biographical sports films.

She will next be seen in Lord Curzon Ki Haveli, a dark comedy directed by Indian filmmaker Anshuman Jha and slated for festival release later this year.
