Pakistan Super League (PSL) has created quite the hype in Pakistan. The people of this country are crazy about cricket, and some may even go as far as to say that it runs in the blood of our people. Whatever may be true, the season of PSL – that one month is something that all nation looks forward to all year around. And interestingly, we have heard some news – Does Fahad Mustafa want to join PSL?
PSL is an all in one league for entertainment, world class cricket, and just pure fun. There are only seven teams, and in all of them there is a mixed ratio of international and domestic cricketer. It is also a pool from which we have discovered some amazing players, whom are now making breakthroughs in the international Pakistani Cricket Team. Haris Rauf and Dahani being one example.
On the other hand, it also gives our players exposure and a learning curve. For example, Shahdab Khan being a player of the Islamabad United in PSL is also the captain, and has been learning, and polishing his leadership skills, and how to make himself better. If this isn’t growth, we don’t know what will.
Coming back to Fahad Mustafa, the star of Pakistan – who is an actor, a host and just one of the most versatile actors in Pakistan was recently seen playing a night match. Fahad posted his picture on his social media, to which a sports journalist had the following response. Senior sports writer Aalia Rasheed commented on one of his latest cricket photos on Twitter, “Phir PSL draught main naam daal dia jai [Should we submit your name in the PSL draught?]?”
In response, Fahad expressed his wish with a laugh. “Hahaha aap recommend karden [You recommend my name].”
Now this is just friendly banter, and this just shows the power of PSL. Everyone wants to play; everyone wants to a part of it – and we hope that everyone can shine.
It is very unlikely that Fahad Mustafa will be drafted in the next season of PSL but we still wish him all the best, and hope that we get to see him in some cricket action and soon. Because it will certainly be a sight for sore eyes.
But really, we are very happy that through such medium, the rest of the world gets to see the positive image of Pakistan.
