Coke Studio season 14 has come to an end – Keh tou rahay hain kay phir milenge but phir kab milenge? Kitna intezar karna paray ga? Kyun kay this season has been one of the best seasons that there is – with the amazing songs, the video, the dances, the stories, and just everything. We have always known that Xulfi is one of the biggest names and talents in Pakistan and even he has surprised us this year.
We have had a total of 13 songs this year, all of which have been better than the others. The season started really strong with the awesome song by Naseebo Lal and Abida Parveen–Tu Jhoom and we instantly fell in love with it. We thought it would be the end of it but were surprised to have the amazing Balochi song by Eva B, Kaifi Khalil, Wahab Ali Bugti. The lyrics of the songs are quite difficult because people can’t really understand the Balochi language.
However, it did not stop people from listening to it again and again because of the vibe of the song. It’s colorful and makes you want to want to dance to it. We then had the most mesmerizing Mehram by Asfar Hussain and Arooj Aftab. It was a slow burn song, but all of us felt it deep within our bones.
We had some fusions; we did not think were possible. Be it the song by Meesha Shafi and Faris Shafi or the song by Atif Aslam and Abdullah Siddiqui. These are the singers we hoped would get together and do something, but didn’t think that we could have our dreams come true in this world at the very least.
And then there was the combination between Faisal Kapadia and Young Stunners. Their genres are so different, but then pulled Phir Milenge to perfection.
There is no shortage of talent in Pakistan, but to bring it together like that in a way that just leaves you speechless is something we did not know Coke Studio and Xulfi could pull off. Yes, we are talking about Pasoori by Shae Gill and Ali Sethi. What a song!
Everything this season has been about perfection, about bringing together artists you did not think would work together, and then creating magic. It is for this reason that Coke Studio is loved throughout the world! We hope that the new season just comes already *wishful thinking, yes we know* but really–Thank you Coke Studio and all the artists for giving us 13 amazing songs to vibe to for the rest of the year.
