“Pasoori” making history
Pasoori is a song from Coke Studio Pakistan that became very famous after it was played on the sixth episode of the 14th season of the show. The well-known Pakistani singer Sethi sang the song, and the skilled singer Shae Gill made her start with it. When it came out on February 6, 2022, the song went popular and caught the attention of people all over the world.
The song’s unique mix of words and catchy tune struck a chord with fans, which helped it get on Spotify’s prestigious Viral 50 – Global chart, which no Pakistani song had ever done before. It was also the first Coke Studio song to be on this chart, which added to its worldwide popularity.
After its success, Pasoori got even more attention when it was featured on a number of well-known websites. The song was in the fourth episode of the Disney+ drama Ms. Marvel, which helped it reach more people around the world. Pasoori was also used in the show Monsoon Wedding, which was put on off-Broadway and was directed by the well-known director Mira Nair.
Spotify says that the song was also the most played Pakistani song around the world and in Pakistan in 2022.
