It is a moment of honour for Pakistanis that now we have locally-made smartphones. Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf (PTI), the present Government party took to Twitter earlier today. According to their official Twitter handle, Samsung and Lucky group have officially launched the smartphone. Surely, Pakistan is moving forward, and there is no going back now.

Minister of Energy Hammad Azhar said that now 70% of the smartphones are being assembled locally after a new mobile manufacturing policy was announced last year. He said that Samsung had also unveiled its first locally assembled smartphones and the next step would be to export the phones.
3 years after launching DIRBS & a year after we launched Mobile Manufacturing Policy, 70% of smart phones are now assembled in Pakistan.
Samsung has also unveiled its first locally assembled smartphone. The next step is exporting these phones InshAllah. @PTAofficialpk @Pak_MoIP— Hammad Azhar (@Hammad_Azhar) January 26, 2022
The new smartphones are being assembled under the joint venture of Samsung and Lucky Groups who joined hands for this initiative in 2021. Lucky Motor Corporation (LMC) joined hands with Samsung Gulf Electronics for the making of Samsung gadgets in Pakistan. The work was started after the agreement, and the result is out now. With about 70% of the smartphones now being assembled locally, Pakistan’s technological sector will reach new heights where people will look up to the state.
After taxes, imported phones will become even more costly. However, it will increase the demand for locally manufactured phones, thus boosting the industry in Pakistan. According to experts, Pakistan’s import bill will also reduce as the demand for high-end phones will decline.

Evidently, it is important to note that Samsung, one of the largest manufacturers of mobile phones, has started production in Pakistan. This is a great achievement in the technological and IT sector of the country. Pakistan is now witnessing a growth in the mobile manufacturing sector. While setting up plants in 2021, the government ensured that this step with take Pakistan to new levels of development and will also create job market for the youth and hopefully will bring more opportunities in the field.
With the current pace of development mobile manufacturing sector can be evidently noticed by the people of the country and like us, they too have a lot of hope for the progress in the field.
