Losing the first T20I against England has raised a lot of questions for the team to proceed for T20 WC. But you cannot underestimate the Green Team, you never know when are they going to strike. They did make a strong comeback surprising the world. They won the 2nd T20I against England by straight 10 wickets. Did you hear it? Yes, by 10 wickets making records as well. It is also an answer to the critics who had raised their brows. Serves them right.
England won the toss and chose to bat first. The pitch was slow at the start. They posted a mammoth total of 199 for the loss of 5 wickets. Although Babar had made up the mind to restrict them to 160, some loose deliveries and dropped catches favored the English crossing the line. Ben Duckett (43), Moeen Ali (55), and Harry Brooks (31) managed to put in runs to a great chase. From Pakistan, Shahnawaz Dhahani and Haris Rauf took 2 wickets each.
Babar has already been facing criticism for not performing in the last few games. He has also slipped to No. 4 in the T20I. Rizwan has been performing well, but then again it is the win that matters the most to the people. They made a partnership of 203 and won by 10 wickets. They have set many records in the match.
The 13th over by Moeen Ali set the things for Pakistan moving towards victory. Babar took advantage by hitting sixes. Moeen Ali said, “I genuinely feel my over lost the game for us. That was a gamble, just trying to almost buy a wicket, but it obviously didn’t work. That’s when Pakistan won the game.” The English bowlers were unable to break the partnership of the opening duo. Later on, Sam Curran was targeted. Babar made sure that everyone notices that he is back on the ground.
Babar after the press conference
The Babar Azam said in the post-match conference, “The discussions were in the dressing room that we can chase the target as we had done it before. We just had to believe in ourselves. I had belief in myself. As a sportsman, you have ups & downs but you have to believe in your own ability. My teammates supported me a lot as they always do. It’s all about unity and you have to support your teammates and lift them when it’s needed. We don’t listen to those from the outside sniping. There’ll always be criticism, and if you don’t do well, people are waiting to pounce. The fans always support us.”

Moeen Ali appreciated Pakistan’s performance, “I thought the 2 Pakistan openers were brilliant. I know they get a lot of stick for their strike rates but I believe their strike rates are very good anyway. They are brilliant players.”
