In an earlier match, Pakistan staged a spectacular comeback to clinch a 5-4 victory over Canada. Despite falling behind 2-0 within the first 17 minutes, the resilient green shirts rallied back, with Abu Bakr Mahmood kickstarting the comeback with two crucial goals. Arshad Liaqat, Rana Waheed Ashraf, and Ghazanfar Ali each added a goal to secure the win, while Sean Davis, Harbir Sindhu, and Avjot Buttar scored for Canada.
Pakistan is set to face New Zealand in their final round game on May 10, while Japan has already sealed their finals berth with a 2-1 victory over Malaysia.
