Indian talented and veteran actor Nana Patekar landed himself in hot waters when a video was released where the legendary actor is seem slapping a fan on set during a shoot. The fan was trying to take a selfie with the Bollywood star. Netizens, on social media outraged Patekar on social media demanding a prompt response from the Parinda star.
In a recent video released by ANI, Nana Patekar is seen apologizing on the incident. According to the actor, he thought the boy was a crew member who was participating in ongoing scene of his upcoming film. Later on Nana Patekar realized and got to know that it wasn’t a crew member, in fact the young boy was a genuine fan who was trying to take a selfie with his favorite star.
In the video Nana Patekar explained “Namaskar. A video is going viral where I hit a boy. There is a sequence in the film where a boy comes from behind and says ‘Ae budhau, topi bechni hai (hey old man, do you want to sell your hat)?’ and I catch him, smack him and ask him to behave properly and he runs away,” the actor said in the video.
Patekar further said, “Though this sequence is a part of our film, we had one rehearsal. We were scheduled to have a second rehearsal. The director directed me to start. We almost begin when the boy in the video intervened. I didn’t know who the boy was, I thought he was one of our crew so I slapped him as per the scene and I told him to leave.”
Nana showed his regret on the unfortunate incident that occurred on the film set. The actor also extended his apology to the young fan. “Namaskar. A video is going viral where I hit a boy. Patekar further clarified, “Though this sequence is a part of our film, we had one rehearsal. We were scheduled to have a second rehearsal. The director told me to begin. We were about to begin when the boy in the video came in. I didn’t know who he was, I thought he was one of our crew so I slapped him as per the scene and I told him to leave.” The actor further regretted the incident and asked for apology and said, he will not do anything like that.
After the apology video from Nana Patekar, mixed reaction came from fans and citizens. Few say its nothing then clearing himself for the incident, few said that Nana Patekar is a genuine person and he cannot do something like this intentionally.
