Kylian Mbappe of Paris Saint-Germain has won the Ligue 1 Player of the Season award for the fourth year in a row. He beat Lionel Messi and other big names for the prestigious award.
The 24-year-old forward had a great season. He helped PSG win their 11th French title by scoring 28 goals in 33 games.
Mbappe won the award at an event in Paris. He beat out Messi, Los Openda and Séko Fofana, and the Lille star Jonathan David. Mbappe beat Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s record of three wins and is now the only player to have won the award four times.
Mbappe thanked his friends, staff, and people who work behind the scenes. He also talked about how he wants to leave a lasting mark on the sport. He said he was surprised to be so successful at such a young age, but he was happy to be making history in his country. Mbappe’s deal with PSG is set to end in 2024, but it could be extended by one year.
Franck Haise was named the best coach of the season for taking RC Lens to second place and getting the team back into the UEFA Champions League after 21 years. Mbappe was also given an award. The Ligue 1 Team of the Season also included four players from RC Lens: goalie Brice Samba, defender Kevin Danso, midfielder Séko Fofana, and forward Los Openda. Also included were four players from PSG. Mbappe and Messi led the attack, and Nuno Mendes and Achraf Hakimi were the fullbacks.

He is still a key player for PSG and a big part of French football because of how well he plays and how often he scores goals. Fans are excited to see what he does next,  Mbappe reassured them that he would be staying with the club for the next season. However, he didn’t say anything else about his future.
