We have always been impressed by the international brands be it food or clothes. Owing to the inflation, the government has requested to promote the national beverage, i.e lassi, and sattu. This will help market the local industry.
HEC has asked the VCs of the universities to ban the beverages and promote local drinks like sattu and lassi. This is “increase employment and generate income for the public”. As the country is going through a financial crisis.
Dr. Shaista Sohail, HEC acting chairperson issued a circular to ask for the VC’s attention. She said that they should take a “leadership role and think of innovative ways to provide relief to the lower-income groups and the economy as a whole”.
