The year 2021 has been tremendous in terms of achievements for cricket. ICC has announced their nominations for the players of the year awards for all formats. Player’s spirits are high when they are appreciated and encouraged. ICC recognizes and celebrates the brilliant performances of 2021. ICC will also determine Team of the year for men’s cricket (Tests, ODIs, T20Is) and Team of the year for men’s cricket (Tests, ODIs, T20Is) along with the individual awards. We have listed the players nominated in all categories in Men’s and Women’s Cricket.
ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year 2021 (Tests, ODIs, T20Is)
ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year is also known as Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy. The nominations for this category are Shaheen Afridi (PaK), Joe Root (ENG), Muhammad Rizwan (PaK), and Kane Williamson (NZ).
ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year 2021 (Tests, ODIs, T20Is)
ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year is also known as Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy. The nominations for the year 2021 are Tammy Beaumont (ENG), Lizelle Lee (SA), Smriti Mandhana (IND), and Gaby Lewis (IRE).
ICC Men’s Test Cricketer of the Year
The award would be given to the best performer in men’s test cricket. The nominations are Joe Root (ENG), Kylie Jamieson (NZ), Dimuth Karunaratne (SL), and Ravichandran Ashwin (IND).
ICC Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year
The award would be given to the best ODI performer in 2021. The nominations are Shakib Al Hasan (BAN), Babar Azam (PAK), Janneman Malan (SA), and Paul Stirling (IRE).
ICC Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Year
The award would be given to the best women player for their performance in ODIs in 2021. The nominations are Tammy Beaumont (ENG), Lizelle Lee (SA), Hayley Matthews (WI), and Fatima Sana (PAK).
ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the year
The best performer in T20I men’s cricket will be awarded the award.  the nominees include Joss Buttler (ENG), Wanindu Hasaranga (SL), Mitchell Marsh (AUS), and Muhammad Rizwan (PAK).
ICC Women’s T20I Cricketer of the Year
The award would be given to the best women player in T20Is in 2021. The nominations include Tammy Beaumont (ENG), Gaby Lewis (IRE), Smriti Mandhana (IND), and Nat Sciver (ENG).
Other categories
Other than the above-mentioned categories, some other categories include ICC Spirit of Cricket Award, ICC’s Elite Panel of Umpires, Match Referees, ICC Umpire of the Year. These awards will be selected by ICC management, Elite Panel of Umpires and Match Referees, and captains of ICC Full member men’s and women’s teams, etc. Teams of the Year will be selected by the voting academy who will identify batters, bowlers, and wicketkeepers.
We are happy that Pakistani players are nominated in 5 categories, i.e ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year 2021, ICC Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Year, ICC Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year, ICC Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year, ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the year.
