The government of Pakistan has announced that citizens from all over the world will be able to apply for Citizenship in Pakistan, given that they are contributing to the country’s economy. The idea started when Imran Khan was told to begin giving Afghanistan investors citizenship. Prime minister Imran Khan said that this should not be limited to any country.
“This policy should not be limited to the Afghan nationals only, but should be a broad-based, structured set-up to facilitate investors with legal standing and belonging to any part of the world,” said the Board of Investment (BoI) chairman – Azhar Ahsan.
The idea is to grant people from all over the world Pakistani citizenship, and this policy has already been adopted by a lot of other countries, like Austria, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Malta, Montenegro, St. Kitts, and Nevis, St. Lucia, etc.

“We are looking at such a policy from all sides, and it is essential to tap all options where the investments opportunities are available… but everything has to be under the national and international legal ambit,” said Azhar Ahsan.
An initiative such as this is the first step towards improving the GDP and the overall economy of the country. The proposal initially suggested that anyone investing with a minimum of $1m would be eligible for this program. But the business plans for each of these investments will have to be shared with the respective provinces for approval.
This will not only help the business sectors but would also strengthen the country overall. It is essential to appreciate this intelligent decision by the government. With the implementation of this, the people of Pakistan will also find a lot of new jobs. With the investments, the overall infrastructure of Pakistan will improve a lot as well. Thank you, Imran Khan sahib!
