Arooj Aftab Nominated For Grammy Again With “Udhero Na”

This is the second time the talented Arooj Aftab is getting nominated for Grammy Awards in LA which will be held on the 5th of February 2023.

By being the first Pakistani to win a Grammy, Arooj Aftab created a stir in the music industry last year. Once again she has received a second nomination in the Best Global Music Performance category for the song “Udhero Na,” which she co-wrote with British-American sitarist Anoushka Shankar.

Arooj Aftab shared the news of her Grammy nomination with her fans on her Instagram account, showing her excitement. In a video message, Aftab expressed her emotions on the nomination and exclaimed, “Oh my God! Udhero Na has been nominated for a Grammy. Congratulations to me and to Anoushka Shankar, Maeve Gilchrist and Nadje Noordhuis.”

She further added:

“So, I’m very emotional and very glad and I’m really, really, just, I don’t even know. I’m in this hall of a ship, we’re about to perform in about 20 minutes or so. I don’t know how I’m going to do that but this is great. So, thank you,” she concluded. Aftab captioned this post, “Congratulations to me! Yes, congratulations to you and Anoushka Shankar.”

The 65th Annual Grammy Awards will be telecasted live on February 5, 2023  on CBS from L.A.’s Crypto.com Arena after voting on the nominations which will take place from December 14 through January 4.

Arooj Aftab has been nominated under the category of best global music performances alongside Burna Boy, Matt B & Eddy Kenzo, Rocky Dawuni, Wouter Kellerman, Zakes Bantwini & Nomcebo Zikode.
