Humans are one of the strangest creatures on the planet earth, and maybe even beyond. Why? Well, for one, we have TikTok, and we have high screeching guys whom we call singers, and we enjoy their screaming and wincing on youtube videos. But that is not where our weirdness ends. Our main abnormality lies in actually setting unrealistic goals, and then failing to achieve them. For example, NASA has just planned to put boots on Mars. Until now, the astronauts were covered in a spacesuit and they could trip over pretty much everything. Have you seen the gravity on Mars lately?
Scientists are working on developing boots that will not pull you into a tumble roll while you are out exploring Mars’ surface. However, this is not the funny part. NASA is planning to have boots all over the surface of Mars in 2040. Maybe that will become a symbol of humans’ curiosity. A boot mark over a planet would mean we have explored it already. The real mindbending scenario would occur when we find boot marks over a planet that we haven’t explored yet…and the boot mark reveals the presence of a 20-meter long foot…

We are going to have to be really careful though. If there is anything that the series of Doom and Dead Space has taught us, it is that there are doorways to hell on Mars. NASA is pretty adamant about sending actual humans into space and making them start exploring the stars. Either this is all going to be a big fantasy, or we might have an actual James Cameroon Avatar playing on one of those planets. However, seeing the previous record of humanity in setting unrealistic goals, we don’t know for sure how or where we will be ending. I mean some of us actually thought back in the 1970s that the 2000s were going to follow human and robot wars, and there would be flying cars. But right now, all we got is the coronavirus in 2020. We also saw many neat inventions coming to life.
If there is anything to predict, it is that a part of space colonization might come true. However, it might also only remain a dream. That is because we have massive issues on Earth, and unless we take care of the human population’s basic needs first, terraforming will have to wait.
