Pakistan Cricket Team Setting the Records – With a recent win against WI 3-0, the year 2021 for Pakistan’s cricket team has been terrific. Babar and Rizwan have been the best opening pair and batters across all formats. Both became the first pair to record six-century stands for the opening wicket and surpassed the record of five set by the Indian pair of Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul.

This year has been full of cricketing records, be that by the bowlers, keepers, batters, and fielders as well. We have amazed the world with our powerful performances throughout the year.

Pakistan has 20 wins in a year for a side in T20i format. 4020 runs were scored by the batters in one calendar year in T20i’s. This has been the highest number of runs by any team so far. Out of which there were 374 fours and 147 sixes, the highest by any team. The two top scorers were Muhammad Rizwan with 1326 runs and Babar Azam with 939 runs in T20i’s.

Babar scored 122 runs, which remains the top score by an individual from test-playing nations. Muhammad Rizwan has scored 12 half-centuries with an average of 73.66. He became the first cricketer to score 2000 runs in T20’s in a year. Babar Azam is still number 1 in ODIs but due to missing out in the first 2 matches of Pak v WI T20i series dropped to 3 in T20i’s.

The highest partnership for the first wicket was 197 runs in April against South Africa by Rizwan and Babar. The best win so far has been the 10 wickets over the arch-rivals India.

Pakistan has been very lucky for having the best pace attack through the cricketing history. Our bowlers are no less than the batsmen in setting the records straight. Shaheen Afridi has been the star bowler for the green shirts.

He has clinched career-high rankings of 3rd in tests, 11th in T20’s, and 13th in ODI format. Hasan Ali is also not too far behind his mate Shaheen. The pace duo has picked up 40 plus wickets each in 2021, becoming only the fourth Pakistani pair to achieve this feat in the longest format of the game. They have broken the record previously held by Shoaib Akhtar and Waqar Younis.

When you have the best athletes, the world will seek you. It’s a proud moment when the English cricketer Sarah Taylor seeks M. Rizwan’s advice as he signs for his first county stint at Sussex. We are truly proud of our green shirts. We pray and wish that this does not stop here and we keep on making records in the years to come.
