International Women's Day

Today (Wednesday) is International Women’s Day, a day set aside to honour and celebrate all women. Every year on March 8, the day is observed globally.

Google is recognising Women’s Day with a doodle, as it does for every significant international occasion. The concept of women supporting women is the foundation of this year’s Google Doodle for the Day.

One ‘GOOGLE’ letter contains vignettes that “highlight just a handful of the numerous instances in which women throughout the globe assist each other to advance and enhance each other’s quality of life,” according to the internet giant.

Alyssa Winans, a doodle artist, created the illustrations. It shows powerful women who work to advance causes important to all women, groups of women who come together to research, educate, and advocate for their rights, women who serve as the primary carers for people from all walks of life, and women who are crucial support networks for one another as mothers.

Winans explained the inspiration for the drawing, stating that she spent time considering all the ways she has benefited from the support of other women in her life while keeping this year’s subject in mind.

But she said that there is a lot more to women and femininity and that no one person’s life experiences can include all that being a woman is about.

According to Winans, the illustration’s depiction of two mothers feeding their infants in various ways was a particular element. This was done to encourage new moms who must deal with the difficulties of parenting, such as nursing “in public” or at work.

Pakistani Ladies Inspiring Women’s Day

Winans said of the message she hopes her doodle sends to the world: “I think it’s only a jumping-off place to reflect on how vast, rich, subtle, and strong the concept of women is.

Google wishes all ladies a happy International Women’s Day for helping one another in all facets of life.
