Pakistan – Good Things That Happened This Week

In Pakistan, this week brought many great things to and for the country. The whole week was jammed packed with big events, adding more to the development and progress of Pakistan. Moreover, we have achieved significant landmarks that would improve the overall situation of the region and the world. These good things are the result of the continuous hard work of the government and the whole nation and we all play an equal part in making all this happen. Let’s discuss and take pride in all the good things that happened this week in Pakistan.

  • Say No To Islamophobia

Islamophobia means hatred towards Muslims or the religion Islam. This concept has seen a significant rise in the 21st century. Because of this, many Muslims had to go through all sorts of violence and insults. And the biggest irony of this century, the advocates of human rights, peace, and harmony singled out humans based on their religion and turned against them. Please, someone, elaborate who are counted as humans and who should be excluded, and on what basis. Based on their eye color maybe?

However, the Muslim countries and Pakistan especially are standing firmly in the face of this calamity. The countries around the world are making all the efforts to curb islamophobia. And these efforts did bring fruitful results for all the Muslims of the world. And we are more than proud of Pakistan that it played a major role in bringing this change.

Pakistan on behalf of the OIC countries presented a resolution in the UN against the rise of Islamophobia. This resolution was backed by all the OIC countries and eight other countries.  because of this, the UN declared March 15 as International Day to Combat Islamophobia. This truly is an achievement for Pakistan and the Muslim world.

  • OIC Conference

Another great event that happened in Pakistan this week is the OIC conference. Pakistan was able to host the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) successfully for the second time too with the celebrations of Pakistan Day celebrations. Many resolutions were passed. The senior delegates and officials from more than 40 countries vowed to work together on many issues of common interest.

Around 70 resolutions were passed during the meeting. Some of the important resolutions are the Russia-Ukraine crisis, Kashmir and Palestine issues, the Afghan crisis, matters concerning Africa and Muslims in Europe, developments in Sudan, Yemen, Syria, Libya, and Somalia, Islamophobia, cooperation in the different fields, etc.

Not to mention that this is the second time in few months that Pakistan hosted an OIC meeting.

  • Pakistan Day

23rd March is the historic day which is celebrated across the country every year. On this day in 1940, the idea of a separate homeland for Muslims was put forth. Like all the other years, Parade Day is the most highlighted part of the celebrations. All the forces showcase their strength during the parade. This year not only the Pakistani forces took part in the parade but also the Foreign Military groups from Azerbaijan, Bahrain, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Uzbekistan. This made the day more special.

Moreover, 126 awards were conferred by the President of Pakistan to the people of Pakistan and foreigners for their services.

  • Low Unemployment Rate

We always come across news related to the rise of the unemployment rate in Pakistan. However, with consistent hard work, Pakistan has been able to achieve the lowest unemployment rate not just across the country but across the whole region. Yeah, great news right, we are also happy to know that in South Asia, Pakistan beat all the countries to mitigate the problems of unemployment.

This was declared after a survey carried out by South Asia Index based on data provided by the World Bank.

This surely is good news and we hope that Pakistan can fully tackle the problems of unemployment.
