Pakistan is growing and progressing digitally. To facilitate and make sure that there is transparency, PTA is making efforts to take on board the relevant companies. A social media company, MICO World Limited, has registered itself with the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). The step has been taken to remove unlawful content.
MICO is a Hong Kong-based company. It has been registered under Rule 7 (6) of Removal and Blocking of Unlawful Online Content (Procedure, Oversight, and Safeguards) Rules 2021. It is the third company after Joyo Technology Pakistan Pvt Ltd (Snack Video) and BIGO Service Pakistan Pvt Ltd (BIGO Live, Likee) to register with PTA.
MICO has submitted an application that the Authority has approved. The spokesperson said, “The registration of a third company is another testimony to PTA’s commitment to pursue the government’s vision of digital Pakistan to help the digital economy of the country to grow.”
