Karachi Test Match: Felt Like A Win.

Pakistani team is unpredictable and can do wonders on the ground. Probably, that is what we enjoy more. Rather than just going at a smooth pace, the Pakistani cricket team can turn matches into thrillers. The second test match had us rolling. The first innings by Pakistan gave us a mini heart attack but the second innings gave us hope to surge. Babar Azam was the star of the second win, making a record of the highest runs in the 4th innings by a captain.

The Australian team has been confident that they will crush us in this test match by playing beautiful innings. This match was the best, though ending in a draw. Babar made a mammoth of 196 runs in just 425 balls.

The last day resumed with Abdullah Shafique on the crease. Eight wickets in hands, they were cruising smoothly.  Australian were getting agitated but Pat Cummins got Abdullah’s wicket at 96, short of just 4 runs from a century. Fawad Alam came in but could hardly settle and lost his wicket for 9 runs.  Australians thought they were back in game.

Muhammad Rizwan joined in to save the match with the skipper, which they did. An unfortunate delivery took away Babar Azam’s wicket at 196. Sajid, Faheem came in but to no avail. It looked like as we had lost it. Nauman Ali came and joined Rizwan and together they were able to save the match.

Pakistan vs Australia: Some Memes The Kangaroos Will Remember

Records were made in the Karachi Test Match, and we are really proud of Babar, Rizwan and Abdullah. Some of the highlights of the match are:

  • Babar Azam played 425 deliveries and stayed for 607 minutes.
  • He became the first south Asian to stay for more than 10 hours on the wicket. Mike Atherton is still leading for staying for 10 hours and 36 minutes.
  • The only captain to score 196 in the fourth inning of a test match.
  • He has surpassed Mike Atherton who made 185 not out. From Pakistan, Younis Khan had the honour to score 171 in 2015 against Sri Lanka.
  • Along with Abdullah Shafique he created a record of most partnership balls (520 balls) in the 4th
  • Most overs (160) played in the 4th

This shows the tremendous talent our cricket team has by setting records. Hum kisi sei kam nahi.

We can’t wait for the third match, and hope to see more brilliant performances. Till then stay tuned for more updates.
