Injuries have forced Pakistan Team made a few changes against the must win clash against the Islanders. Today the co-hosts will face each other in a very important Super 4 match where the winner of this match will qualify for the 2023 Asia Cup final where they’ll face India. India withy four points from there two matches in Super 4 round have already qualified for the final.
This match is like a semi-final for Pakistan Team and Sri Lanka. Considering the weather conditions in Sri Lanka throughout this Asia Cup, there is high probability that rain might affect the match result. In case of a tie because of rain or any other reason Sri Lanka will be through to the final because of a better run rate.
Islanders have a Net Run Rate of -0.2, while Pakistan Team has a NRR of -1.892 after a defeat of 228 runs against India.
Pakistan Playing Xi
Three injuries in the match against India has led Pakistani team make a few changes in the playing XI against Sri Lanka. Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf and Salman Agha got injured in the previous match.
Pakistan Teamwill be going with five changes. In batting Mohammad Haris will be replacing out-of-form Fakhar Zaman. Meanwhile Mohammad Waseem Jnr and Zaman Khan are in team for injured Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf. Mohammad Nawaqz and Saud Shakeel have also made their way into playing XI in place of Faheem Ashraf and injured Salman Agha.
Rain Likely to Spoil PAK vs SL Clash
The final line up for the must win match include Mohammad Haris, Imam ul Haq, Babar Azam (captain), Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Saud Shakeel, Iftikhar Ahmed, Shadab Khan (vc), Mohammad Nawaz, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Waseem Jnr and Zaman Khan.
Zaman Khan and Shah Nawaz Dahani were called from Pakistan after unfortunate injuries of Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf and Salman Agha. Zaman Khan who reached yesterday to Colombo will make his ODI debut. Dahani will land Colombo today and he will join the squad.
