Enaam Ahmed, a British-Pakistani formula racer, completed the Alabama Grand Prix in fourth place, becoming the first Pakistani to place in the top five in a Grand Prix. This was the greatest position ever for a Pakistani driver in international competition.

The event was held at Barber Motorsports Park, home of the premier American auto racing series.

18 drivers, who are regarded as some of the greatest in the world, competed in the event.

Ahmed fought hard and wisely to finish fourth at Barber Motorsports Park in what was just his second appearance in the Firestone IndyNXT Championship, the last race before Indy cars.

An overjoyed Ahmed stated, upon the announcement of the final standings: “I am really satisfied with the outcome and the work made by my team Cape Motorsports, particularly considering that this is their first season competing in this series. I scored a lot of points and was happy to beat out the championship leader to the finish line. There were some difficulties in the first three to five minutes, but I overcame them and there was no turning back.

The racer said, “Flying the flag of Pakistan on my car is a source of pride for me.”

In a field of 18 competitors, Ahmed lined up ninth on the starting grid. He finished sixth when the race was restarted after an accident thanks to a clean and prudent driving. He was able to advance to fourth on the last lap, making it a historic day for Pakistani motorsports since this is the Pakistani driver’s best-ever result in the premier division of international racing.

Since his karting days, Ahmed has been writing history. He also has the title of British Formula 3 Champion, making him the first Pakistani to ever win a high-level Formula Championship. By winning 13 races in a single season, Emaan broke Ayrton Senna’s record during the championship.

With his winning streaks on the challenging courses, the 23-year-old is travelling the globe while driving automobiles at an average speed of 200 mph and making sure that his vehicle is flying both the British and Pakistani flags. Ahmed is one of the most talented and intriguing young racers in all of motorsport.
