Pakistan could not be any more proud. Bagging a gold medal in the name of Pakistan is a moment to cheer and forever cherish as it shall be written in history. Pakistani sportsman are changing the narrative about our country in the world and truly are the real ambassadors of Pakistan.

Pakistani weightlifter Nooh Dastagir Butt has won Pakistan its first gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, and social media users couldn’t be prouder of him. Butt’s gold-medal winning lift involved him lifting a record total of 405 kg in the +109 kg category of the Commonwealth Games heavy-lifting event on Wednesday.

24-year-old Butt hails from Gujranwala and lifted 173 kg in his first attempt in the snatch portion of the event, as well as 232 kg during the Clean and Jerk category, which brought his total up to 405 kg, earning him the gold medal for Pakistan.

Ever since his victory, not only netizens but other winners are also all praises for Nooh Butt.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Shareef especially acknowledged Nooh’s victory in his tweet.
