Finland has been ranked as the happiest country in the world for the sixth year in a row. An annual index that is sponsored by the United Nations has classified Afghanistan as the unhappiest country in the world, with Lebanon coming in a close second.

The most significant improvements in well-being were documented in Bulgaria, Romania, and Serbia. Lebanon, Venezuela, and Afghanistan all experienced significant drops in their respective positions on the world happiness chart, which was published on Friday.

Lebanon, which is now going through an economic collapse, has dropped to the position of second-to-last on the index of 146 countries, just behind Zimbabwe.

A local company owner in Finland was quoted as saying, “Many things are unquestionably fantastic here,” as the country once again topped the global happiness chart.

Jeffrey Sachs, a co-author of the study, noted that the World Happiness Report has taught them that social support, giving to one another, and honesty in government is essential for well-being. “The leaders of the world ought to take note.”

The land with many lakes and woods is also renowned for its efficient government services, popular sauna culture, high levels of confidence in government officials, and low crime and inequality.

Several people were surprised by the report’s 2018 findings, which put Finland at the top of the list. There are 5.5 million people living in this Scandinavian country, and many of them say they are reserved, gloomy people who look askance at public demonstrations of happiness. People living in Finland, which is ranked as the happiest country stated, ”we had it quite well compared to a lot of other areas, someone from the outside needed to inform us. Yet after six years at the top, we’re accustomed to it!”
