Wrestling was celebrated once, but now it’s a lost game. Some players have kept the spirits still alive despite restrains. One of them is Inam Butt who has won two gold medals in Beach Wrestling World Series which was held in Italy and Greece last year. He had appreciated the support of the authorities, especially the Punjab Sports Board and the Pakistan Olympic Association. He said that ‘when all the sports institutions work together, then the athletes can win medals for the country.’
“I dedicate this medal to Pakistan sports institutions. Most of the credit for this feat goes to Pakistan Wrestling Federation. Luckily, today our new body has been elected and today I have earned the World Champion title for Pakistan. Besides this, I want to say huge thanks to Pakistan Sports Board, [IPC Minister] Fehmida Mirza, and DG Asif Zaman. They have helped me a lot, we weren’t getting visas. Because of their efforts, I got the visa and played here.”
