At the big UFC 300 event, Dana White finally spilled the beans. He announced that Conor McGregor, a big name in UFC, is making a comeback to fight his old rival, Michael Chandler. Both stars are 35 years old, and they’ve been gearing up for this clash for months, even coaching against each other on a TV show called The Ultimate Fighter.
Despite lots of whispers and guesses, Dana White confirmed that the showdown is set for June 29. It will be a five-round headline fight at 70lbs. Dana explained that the fight took a while to organize because Conor only recently got back to training properly.
Dana pointed out, “It’s all about timing. Chandler was ready to go, but Conor needed more time. He had other big stuff to handle before he could focus fully on training for a fight.”
This exciting news came right after Alex Pereira won the light-heavyweight title by knocking out Jamahal Hill in the first round of UFC 300, and just before Max Holloway knocked out Justin Gaethje at the very last tick of their fight.
