The Legend of Maula Jatt Breaks RRR’s Record In UK

Lashari, producer Ammara Hikmat and the star-studded cast of the hit film congratulated the audience for propelling 1979’s reboot on the run to becoming Pakistan’s most successful film to date.

Bilal Lashari’s The Legend of Maula Jatt is continuing its winning trend by breaking records both domestically and abroad. In just 17 days since its premiere in the UK, the cult favourite has surpassed SS Rajamouli’s RRR in lifetime box office earnings.

Directed by Rajamouli, the Jr NTR and Ram Charan-starrer stand at a worldwide collection of around INR12 million and was immensely loved especially in the west. While The Legend Of Maula Jutt has a long way to get there, beating it in the UK is a huge achievement nevertheless.

Earlier this week, the makers announced that the film had crossed Rs100 crores globally. Lashari, producer Ammara Hikmat and the star-studded cast of the hit film congratulated the audience for propelling 1979’s reboot on the run to becoming Pakistan’s most successful film to date.

“It’s a proud moment for Pakistanis all over the world as we’ve made 100 crores in 10 days and this is the best portrayal of our film industry. I’m so proud to be a part of it.” said Humaima Malick in her Instagram post.

The Legend of Maula Jatt stars Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Humaima Malick, Gohar Rasheed and Faris Shafi in pivotal roles.
