Salary raise is every employee’s dream. But how much they implement is another story. But we want to tell you something different. DG Human Organ Transplant Authority, Punjab Prof. Asad Aslam Khan, has requested the provincial government to cut his salary.
Prof Dr. Asad Aslam Khan is DG Punjab Human Organ Transplant Authority (P-HOTA). In an unusual request, the DG said that the salary he is getting is beyond his needs and should be decreased. Dr. Asad Aslam wrote a letter to Punjab Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Department saying, βThey appointed me as Administrator/DG P-HOTA in December 2021 and [have been] getting a monthly salary package [of] Rs1 million since thenβ. They gave him a salary package of Rs 1 million.
The government has provided an official car, free petrol and a driver besides the salary package. He explained that the working hours of his office were five days a week from 9 am to 5 pm (Monday to Friday). He said that he completes his work within three or four hours.
He said, βAfter working for three and a half months, I have realized that this salary package, along with the above facilities, is out of proportion to the amount of work needed to be done by the Administrator/DG P-HOTA. I propose that my salary package as DG P-HOTA may be reduced from Rs1m to Rs0.5 m.β He requested the Punjab health secretary to rationalize his salary package in the better interest of Pakistan, as the remuneration was part of tax money.
Government Launches Mazdoor Ka Ehsaas Program
They gave his predecessor Rs. 1.3 million salary and other facilities. He had already requested his salary to be less on his appointment 3 months ago, which was reduced to Rs. 1 million. He said that he comes to the office five days a week and thinks that the salary he is getting is way too much.
We hope that more honest people come up and work for rizq e hilal. People like him make Pakistan a better and more prosperous country.
