Peshawar Zalmi: Yellow stormers’ retention list is out

Seven players were retained by Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators.

The PSL retention lists for the season 7, 2022 are just in. There were eight retentions by Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi. Seven players were retained by Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators.

The drafting ceremony by the National High Performance Centre will be on 12thDecember, 2021 where more than 425 players from 32 countries will be available for the franchises.

There are four categories for the franchises to rank the players: platinum, diamond, gold and silver. Each franchise comprises of up to 18 players, which includes three players in Platinum, Diamond and Gold categories. Five players are to be ranked in Silver, up to two in both Emerging and Supplementary categories.

In the Platinum Category, Lahore Qalandars will be given the chance to pick first, followed by Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators, and Multan Sultans.

Eight players have been retained by Peshawar Zalmi. The Peshawar Zalmi team has grabbed the maximum fanbase among all the franchises in the PSL season. Hussain Talat has been traded from Islamabad United, completing Zalmi’s retention of eight players. The other seven players that have been retained by the Zalmi’s are Shoaib Malik, Wahab Riaz, Haider Ali, Liam Livingstone, Sherfane Rutherford, Saqib Mahmood, and Tom Kohler- Cadmore. Kamran Akmal, part of the PSL season 6 has been released in this season and will no longer play for the Yellow stormers.

Wahab and Liam Livingstone have been able to make their place to the Platinum category. Shoaib Malik, Haider Ali and Sherfane Rutherford in Diamond, Saqib Mahmood and Hussain Talat in Gold category. Last but not the least, Tom Kohler made his way to the Silver category.

The 7th edition of PSL is scheduled to take place from 27th January till 27thFebruary in Karachi and Lahore. PCB has decided to give access to the free wi-fi to the fans by installing the stations outside the stadiums in the PSL matches. The fans will be able to share their live experiences through social media. Ramiz Raja has stepped in to test the commentary skills of the fans, which will help connect with the fans. We wish Yellow Stormers all the best for season 7 with their star player.
