Pakistan’s Drive-In concert sets World Record

While drive-in musical events became a thing during the pandemic all around the world, they have finally made their way to Pakistan, providing people a chance to listen and watch their favourite music icons perform from the comfort of their seats.

With a line- up of Pakistan’s leading pop singers, Jazz organized a drive-in concert which managed to gather enough cars that set a new Guinness World Record. With the base shaking the floor, heads banging and the crowd jamming in excitement, Islamabad came alive on Saturday at the Jazz Drive In concert.

While drive-in musical events became a thing during the pandemic all around the world, they have finally made their way to Pakistan, providing people a chance to listen and watch their favourite music icons perform from the comfort of their seats.

The Jazz Drive In concert was one of its kind in Pakistan. The enthralling audience and electrifying performance by the star studded artists including Atif Aslam, Bilal Khan and Ali Azmat, the event is said to have set the Guinness World Record for most cars to gather at a concert. The management claims there were more than 1500 cars at the concert.

Bilal Khan opened the show with his melodious voice, setting the tone for the evening followed by Ali Azmat who compelled people to leave their cars and joining him close to the stage as he sung his ever green songs including Garaj Baras, Sayonee and Pappu Yar.

Ali Azmat performed for the first time after a two year halt among the pandemic and the people of Islamabad gave him the warm welcome he deserved. The show ended with the much awaited performance by the iconic Atif Aslam who made the night worth remembering with his ever famous track Aadat along with performing tribute to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan with his renowned Qawalis.

To set the record, more than 1000 cars had to be at the venue for the entire duration of the concert. Cameras were installed across the venue at locations suggested by the Guinness World Records’ supervisors, which allowed them to periodically count the cars in attendance at the event.

Creating a new world record is a wonderful achievement for us all and it’s heartening to see the enthusiasm shown by the residents of the twin cities to be part of this momentous occasion. As the nation’s lifestyle brand, the idea behind Jazz’s series of drive-in events was to provide Pakistanis alternate entertainment avenues in the new normal,” said Jazz Chief Commercial Officer Asif Aziz.

The Drive In concert provided people with safe parking spaces and implemented all Covid SOP’s to ensure a successful event. The concert goers admitted to have had the time of their lives while feeling safe and comfortable.

Setting a Guinness World Record is a big achievement for Pakistan and it was all made possible thanks to Jazz and Park View City for organizing the event.
