An enormous and beautiful region which sadly remains unnoticed and taken for granted is the pure land of Balochistan. It is quiet hurtful to see this rich province be exploited by political and foreign sources. Although the condition of Balochistan isn’t new, the awareness regarding the brutally has increased during the past few years. Social and digital media have brought Balochistan’s matter under spotlight several times.
Ayesha Omer and Shamoon Abbasi’s upcoming movie Dhai Chaal has just released its soundtrack and it is in tribute to the unsung heroes of Balochistan. The film Dhai Chaal based on the story of Indian RAW agent Kulbhushan Jadhav, played by Abbasi. The story is told through the lens of a journalist, played by Omar, and it explores the political atmosphere in Balochistan at the time. Jadhav was convicted and sentenced to death in 2017 by a military tribunal for spying.
The song’s lyrics, which are sung by Sahir Ali Bagga, promote patriotism. The scenes that go with the music video appear to depict individuals battling terrorism. Protests, violent gun confrontations, and what appear to be intelligence officers discussing a plan to reduce crime in the area are all present.
A “tribute to beloved actor Rasheed Naz”, the movie has been produced by Dr Irfan Ashraf. The film’s cast also includes Humayoun Ashraf, Adnan Shah Tipu, Taqi Ahmed, Saleem Meraj, Areej Chaudhary, Faraz Marri, Jamal Gilani, Pakiza Khan and Anya Hassan.
Dhai Chaal was scheduled to release in February 2020. Although there appears to have been another delay, the March-published trailer stated that the movie would be released this summer.
