Metaverse is the new hot topic of this decade. Businesses everywhere are going bonkers over it. Serious internal discussions about leveraging this new trend are filling the discussion rooms of nearly every second office or business. Most of us thought that Metaverse was for giants within the tech and digital industry. However, just now, McDonald’s has revealed its plans to enter the big universe of Metaverse and this opens up a world of possibilities for many.
McDonald’s aims to open several virtual restaurants within the Metaverse, where they will sell both digital and physical products. Just imagine that you are in the digital world and you get hungry. You no longer have to take off your equipment and order something, then wait for it in the real world while remaining disconnected from the Metaverse.
Instead of unplugging your headphones or taking off your helmet, you move towards the virtual restaurant of McDonald’s and order something from there instead. Then, the delivery shows up at your doorstep.
This might not be enticing for most of us now since we aren’t avid users of Metaverse just yet. However, it will surely become a trend in the upcoming future.
Other than setting up virtual food outlets in the metaverse, McDonald’s is also offering digital products as well as multimedia files for artwork, audio, and video applications.
The plan of entering and securing a spot in the Metaverse will take time, as currently not many of us are roaming the virtual world. It is worthy of mention that becoming the next blockbuster isn’t on the corporate giants’ list. Instead, they care more about staying relevant, and that is exactly what opening a virtual restaurant in the Metaverse is doing. Other than that, there is a range of options opened for McDonald’s that the food chain giant can utilize. McDonald’s can create new digital avatars as well as integrate its branding into games and digital applications. McDonald’s can also give the Metaverse users a sense of familiarity by integrating the actual map and location of the food outlets with the ones present in the digital world.
The future currently holds nothing but promising glimpses of what the Metaverse is going to look like. It is an active user-based experience and depending on what people want, the Metaverse is still taking shape. However, due to the indulgence of giants like McDonald’s,’ it is quite clear that Metaverse is going to be an immersive experience.
