The Crown is a Netflix historical drama based on Queen Elizabeth II by the Award Winning British screenwriter Peter Morgan. There were a lot of speculations for a Pakistani actor who would be playing a part in The Crown. And guess who? Our very own, Humayun Saeed was able to bag the character of Dr. Hasnat Khan. This is nothing short of amazing, International publications have also picked up the story and Humayun Saeed is now making waves in the international arena.
The Crown
The show first aired in 2016. This Netflix show is a predecessor to Peter’s Film ‘The Queen (2006)’ and his stage play ‘The Audience (2013)’. The Crown explores the life history of Queen Elizabeth II. Humayun Saeed may feature in the season. Its 5th season would be on air in 2022. The budget for this year’s production is $260 million making it one of the most expensive tv series so far. In this season, there would be a focus on the 1990’s event and its impact on the Royal Family. The season will also talk about the relationship of Princess Diana with Prince Charles and eventually her death.
Pakistani Artists in Hollywood
Pakistani artists have been making it to the news in Hollywood for years now. Although the list is long, some of the notable artists include Adnan Siddiqui, Sajid Hasan, Mahnoor Baloch, Meesha Shafi, Faran Tahir. The singers include Strings and Atif Aslam giving their music to Hollywood. Fawad Khan also recently confirmed that he is starring in the Ms. Marvel series for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Such a proud moment for the Pakistani Showbiz industry.
Humayun Saeed debuted in the industry with the drama ‘Karooron Ka Aadmi’ in 1995. He is also the co-founder of the production house Six Sigma Plus. He has acted in many dramas and movies. Best known for his movie, ‘Jawani Phir Nahi Ani’, his movie has received more than 17 awards so far. It was the fourth highest-grossing film of that time. His movie ‘Punjab Nahi Jaungi’ and ‘Jawani Phir Nahi Ani’ part 2 was the highest-grossing film and the second highest-grossing film of their respective times. He has received many awards including five Lux Style Awards. He is also the recipient of the Pride of the Performance by the Pakistani Government. His role is also recognized and appreciated for the revival of Pakistani Cinema in the 4th HUM Awards(2016).
Dr. Hasnat Khan is a Pakistani-British heart surgeon in London. It is reported that he had been in a relationship with Princess Diana for two years.
Pakistani celebrities and media outlets have shared the great news and congratulated him on this role.
