Fakhar Zaman sets five records

In the second one-day international on Saturday, Pakistan’s opening batsman Fakhar Zaman, who hit a third straight century to lead Pakistan to a seven-wicket win against New Zealand, broke five distinct records.

In the second ODI, the 33-year-old opener scored his tenth ODI hundred with an unbeaten 180 off 144 balls.

Prior to his most recent century, he scored 117 runs in the first game and 101 runs in January against the same opponents as Pakistan chased a challenging 337-run target in 48.2 overs.

Pakistan now leads the five-match series 2-0 with the last three games scheduled for May 3, 5, and 7 in Karachi.

“It was my lucky day to score again against New Zealand as I got chances,” Zaman added.

I try to take my time initially, but once there are five players in the circle, scoring is simpler.

“Outstanding” was how visiting skipper Latham defined Zaman.

At the halfway point, we were very content, said Latham. Fakhar played an excellent knock. They formed relationships, which was a significant accomplishment for the hitting department.
