Arooj Aftab – First Pakistani Ever To Win An Grammy Award

It is to these people that we say that they are the stars that shine and that we are super proud of them.

Arooj Aftab

Arooj Aftab has been the talk of town for some time now. We fell in love with her when she joined with Asfar Hussain, and gave us Mehram – one of the best songs of Coke Studio. A song that we both jammed too, and loved so much that by now – most of us know the lyrics. But the girl does not stop there, no. A few months ago, we heard the news that Arooj was nominated in the Grammy awards – one of the most notorious awards for the music industry. And this weekend, we heard the news – the first Pakistani ever to bag an Grammy award is none other than Arooj Aftab.

She was the award for the Best Global Music Performance. “I am beyond thrilled,” the artist told journalists backstage at the pre-gala ceremony, at which the vast majority of awards are handed out. “It feels great.” She then also added, “I’ve been very nervous all day. And we’re off to a good start.”

She is a true star and we love her all the more because of the simple fact that she is the first Pakistani ever to have won a Grammy award. This is the biggest possible achievement possible for anyone. All of Pakistan is super proud of her. She won the award for the song, ‘Mohabbat,’ which is a delight to listen to.

Pakistan is a country full of talent, and talented people and to see them getting world wide recognition and the acknowledgement that they deserve is something that we all can’t help but be proud of. It is these people that make Pakistan proud on all fronts, and keep the flag soaring high in the sky.

Arooj Aftab winning the award just gives us all hope that one day soon – we will have a lot of other stars who will be recognized for the work that they do and that all of their dreams and dedication will not go amiss.

It is to these people that we say that they are the stars that shine and that we are super proud of them. May they continue to shine and make us proud, and keep on encouraging and inspiring the younger generation to follow in their footsteps to do the same – chase after their dreams, and do everything they can to make them come true.

We wish her all the best and congratulate her for winning the Grammy award!
