‘Too much screen time can trigger suicidal thoughts in kids’-study finds

Any screen time, including time spent playing video games, texting, or watching streaming content, may increase the likelihood of having suicidal thoughts.

It’s no secret that children’s mental health is being negatively impacted by smartphones in unanticipated ways. Regardless of these things, it’s still crucial to limit your screen time.

For kids between the ages of nine and eleven, too much screen usage can be harmful. This might ultimately result in an increase in suicidal thoughts.

Researchers investigated the potential effects that such behaviour might have in a study. The findings suggest that each hour spent watching screens increases a child’s likelihood of having suicidal thoughts at some point in the future by an equivalent amount.

Any screen time, including time spent playing video games, texting, or watching streaming content, may increase the likelihood of having suicidal thoughts. This demonstrates how crucial it is for parents to monitor their children and stop them from using their phones excessively.

It’s interesting that the results of this study seem to imply that these thoughts may not merely be the result of information overload. When all factors are taken into account, screen time is generally not very healthy for kids.
