It became big news that journalist and PM Imran Khan’s former wife Jemima Goldsmith would write and produce her first romantic comedy “What’s Love Got to do with It?” under the banner of her company Instinct Production. Rumors were that Sajal Aly will join the star cast for the rom-com.

Well, the rumors are true.

The journalist penned, “Sajal Aly has joined the cast of What’s Love Got To Do With It, directed by Shekhar Kapur and produced, written by Jemima Khan.” He added, “The rom-com stars Emma Thompson, Lily James, and Shazad Latif and is currently being shot in London. Confirmed by Sajal’s agent Hamid Hussain.”
The first look of the film, released in December, promised a cross-cultural British rom-com. The film follows a filmmaker Zoe (James) and juxtaposes her journey to love (swiping on dating apps and bad dates) with that of her close friend Kazim (Latif) who opts for an arranged marriage. She records his journey from London to Lahore as he sets off to marry a stranger and starts questioning her own ideas of love.
