Riz Ahmed is one of those stars who never fail to impress us or Hollywood. He has always raised a voice throughout for the rights and the representation of Muslims, and the fact that he was awarded an Oscar for his movie ‘The Last Goodbye’ is nothing short of inspiring. We speak for everyone when we say that the entire nation is very proud of him.
Riz Ahmed has won his first Oscar for the best short live-action film – The Last Goodbye. It was directed by Aneil Karia and written by both Aneil, and Riz. However, Aneil opted to stay back screen while Riz starred in the movie. It is the first Oscar that Riz Ahmed has won.
Over the years, he has done some excellent work – played very important roles, and every time there would be an award show or any such occasion – Riz would take to the mic and speak up for the rights of the Muslim community.
But the thing about Riz is the fact that even when talking about such things – important topics, he knows how to make the whole audience listen to him. He does not just merely talks but speaks in a way that people can’t help but listen to him because he always has solid proof and logical arguments.
The Long Goodbye is a satirical thriller movie, in which an immigrant family in Britain is preparing for a wedding when things get out of control and chaos erupts as a murder takes place.
The movie is written in a way that keeps the audience hooked and gives out just what he wanted to tell the world. The direction and the acting are also on spot and we can’t help but want to see how it all unfolds while biting our nails because it is that enthralling.
In an interview, Riz said, “In such divided times, we believe that the role of story is to remind us there is no ‘us’ and ‘them’. There’s just ‘us’.”
“This is for everyone who feels like they don’t belong. Anyone who feels like they’re stuck in no man’s land. You’re not alone. We’ll meet you there. That’s where the future is. Peace,” he added.
All in all, we are super happy about Riz having won the Oscar, and we hope that he gets to win more awards and get the recognition that he deserves for the splendid work that he does.
