Everything You Need To Know About Oscars 2022

We decided to bring to you a list of all the important things that have happened this year in Oscar, and no we will not be talking about Chris Rock or Will Smith.

Oscars 2022 were full of fun, dazzle, and a little bit of punching. Yes, we all know of the Chris and Will fiasco but is it possible that it may have perhaps overshadowed all the other things that happened at the Oscars? Because really since yesterday, everyone has been talking about Chris and Will thing but why is no one talking or not enough people are talking about the fact that Samuel Jackson got his first Oscar after having acted in over 150 movies and that it was presented to him by Denzel Washington.

So, we decided to bring to you a list of all the important things that have happened this year in Oscar, and no we will not be talking about Chris Rock or Will Smith.

  1. Beyoncé honoring the William sisters

Beyonce got to the stage and performed her song – ‘Be Alive’ from King Richard, for which she was also nominated. But what was surprising was the fact that she pulled out a stopper and paid her tribute to Serena and Venus Williams. What a woman! All three of them.

  1. Megan Thee Stallion also made a surprise appearance!

It has happened for the first time in history that she made a guest appearance and performed on the song ‘We don’t talk about Bruno.’

  1. Troy Kostur making history

Troy is the second deaf male actor to have won the prize for his supporting role performance as Frank Rossi in CODA. He is the second deaf actor to win an Academy Award, following his costar’s footstep – Marlee Matlin who won the award in 1987, for Best Actress in Children of Lesser God. His father translated Troy’s award-winning speech – “where [he] was allowed and given the opportunity to develop [his] craft as an actor.”

  1. Ariana DeBose became the first openly queer woman to win an acting award

She is an openly Queer woman to have won an Academy Award, and the second Latina woman to have had the achievement such as this. In her acceptance speech, she opened up about being a queer woman of color and gave a shoutout to Moreno, saying she “paved the way for tons of Anitas like me.”

  1. Samuel L. Jackson won his first Oscar!

Yes, we have already mentioned it before but we will do so again because this is one of the biggest moments of the night. Samuel won the award, and what is more, is the fact that the legend Denzel Washington presented the award to him!

These are just some of the moments of the night. There are a lot more, and unfortunately, all of them got outshone because of the Will and Chris chaos. While, we understand that it was perhaps the biggest moment of the year 2022 Oscars, but let’s take a moment to talk about other things as well!
