In the 17th match of the eighth Pakistan Super League (PSL 8) at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi today, Peshawar Zalmi beat Karachi Kings by 24 runs. Kings failed to reach the 198-run mark.
Kings scored 173-8 in 20 overs chasing 198 runs.
The Kings scored 55 runs in the opening powerplay without Adam Rossington, who scored 15 runs in eight balls.
After Tayyab Tahir (6), who hit a fifty in the last encounter, was caught behind the stumps in the seventh over, Azmatullah Omarzai gave a key breakthrough.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman dismissed opener Matthew Wade after 53 runs in 41 balls.
The Kings struggled after Wade’s departure, losing wickets often.
Captain Imad Wasim hit an unbroken 57 runs in 30 balls, but his side lost.
Mujeeb took two wickets and Aamer Jamal and Omarzai three apiece.
In the critical match, Peshawar Zalmi had set Karachi Kings 198 runs.
Despite being down early in the innings, Zalmi scored 197-5 in 20 overs.
Mohammad Amir dismissed Babar Azam and Mohammad Haris in the first over to give the Kings a flawless start. Both batsmen were out for ducks.
Amir took his third wicket when Saim Ayub (1) was caught at deep square leg following a poor flip shot.

Haseebullah Khan, playing his debut match, struck a fifty to help his side recover. Tabraiz Shamsi removed the left-hander after 50 runs in 29 balls, including four fours and three sixes.
Karachi’s hopes of keeping Peshawar to a low score were dashed by Rovman Powell, who smashed the bowlers everywhere. Six fours and four sixes made his 34-ball 64 sensational.
Kohler-Cadmore added 56 runs in 45 balls. He hit five fours and three sixes.
Karachi’s best bowler was Amir with 4-26 in four overs.
Karachi Kings won the toss and bowled against Peshawar Zalmi.
