This week, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) says that most of the country will have weather like a heat wave in Pakistan, and daytime temperatures will gradually rise.
“Due to high pressure in the upper atmosphere, daytime temperatures are likely to rise gradually across most of the country from June 20 to June 24,” the PMD said in a weather warning released today.
It says that daytime temperatures are expected to stay four to six degrees Celsius above average in upper and central Punjab, Islamabad, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir.
In Sindh, South Punjab, and parts of Balochistan, the temperature will be two to four degrees Celsius higher than usual.

The PMD also told farmers to make sure their crops get enough water. People were told to stay out of strong sunlight when they didn’t have to and to use water wisely.
The PMD warning comes after a red alert for a high heat wave in Pakistan was sent out. In India, at least 98 people have died in the last three days because of heatwaves in the states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
