Pak vs Afg 2nd ODI

Pakistan beat Afghanistan in the 2nd ODI. Naseem Shah again helped Pakistan win against Afghanistan in the last over.  Again, Naseem Shah has done it. We’ve seen this scene before, but it was in a T20I version. A big swing leads to an edge that goes past the outer bars and counts as a four. A similar party was held by Naseem. Last year at the Asia Cup, when Pakistan was 9 down against Afghanistan, he hit back-to-back sixes in the last over to win the game for Pakistan. After the game, people from the two countries fought in the field. Pakistan now has a 2-0 lead in the three-game series that can’t be taken away. What a game we’ve just seen! Pakistan moves to the top of the list of ODI teams.

Imam-ul-Haq and Babar Azam both had great half-centuries, which helped Pakistan beat Afghanistan by one wicket in the second ODI on Thursday. The game came down to the last ball, and it was a nail-biter. Pakistan had a great start as they went for 301. Imam scored 91 and Babar scored 53. But the guests lost some wickets, and it was Shadab Khan’s 48 runs and Naseem Shah’s two fours in the last over that helped them win by one wicket. Earlier, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran’s hard hits helped Afghanistan beat Pakistan in the second ODI on Thursday by scoring 300/5 in 50 overs. Afghanistan chose to bat first and got off to a great start when Gurbaz and Zadran made a huge 227-run partnership for the first wicket. Gurbaz got a score of 151, and Zadran got a score of 80.

Afghanistan was so close to beating Pakistan in an ODI for the first time today, but it wasn’t meant to be. They are down 0-2 in the series with one game left to play. With the bat, they did much better. Gurbaz led the way with a great knock. But they didn’t finish well in the last overs and then made big mistakes with the ball in the same phase. Saturday is the day of the last game.

Asia Cup 2023: Schedule, Format, Venue and Background

Here are the interviews from captains and man of the match:

Babar: All credit to boys. When we’re starting with the bat, we just tried to get partnerships. Just wanted to see after 40 overs where we stand. Had the quality of batting later on. In crunch situations, Naseem has performed well. Always have to improve in cricket. You’re never satisfied. Have to play the natural game. Looking forward to the last match. Looking to carry the momentum.

Shahidi: It’s hurting. We had enough runs on the board. The game was in our hands. The 49th over, Abdul Rahman gave some easy balls to hit. Openers are playing well from last one and a half years. Both are good sides. We didn’t control pressure well enough.

Shadab, Player of the Match: When you’re a senior player, you go through these phases many times, sometimes you fail, sometimes you succeed. They have quality spinners, so wanted to go after the fast bowlers. Was blaming myself for that shot against Zimbabwe in T20 WC. Resolved not to play such shots.
