Khaleej Times said that Pakistan’s first female astronaut, Namira Salim, is about to go into space. This is an important event.
Namira will start her space journey on October 5 from Dubai. In 2007, she raised Pakistan’s flag at the North Pole.
Virgin Galactic Holdings, a business that helps people go to space, has said that their Galactic 04 flight window will start its trip next month.
Richard Branson, the founder of Virgin Galactic and an astronaut himself, gave Namira the number six spot as an astronaut. Astronaut 019 will help her on her first trip to space.
In 2006, Pakistan’s government publicly accepted Namira as the country’s first astronaut. She was also Pakistan’s official tourist representative in 2007.
In April 2007 and January 2008, Namira was the first Pakistani to reach the North Pole and the South Pole, respectively.
Namira was also the first person from Asia and the first person from Pakistan to jump over Mount Everest in 2008. In 2011, she was given the ‘Tamgha-e-Imtiaz’ (Medal of Excellence).
Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi said that Namira Salim’s planned trip to space was a big deal for Pakistan and a sign of the country’s growing interest in space research.

She told the acting minister about how she was getting ready for her space trip and how determined she was to fly the Pakistani flag in space.
Solangi praised Namira Saleem on starting her trip into space on behalf of the Government of Pakistan, acting Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, and the people. He also wished her well.
Solangi said that Namira Saleem is an example for all women and that the young people of Pakistan can bring the country’s name up in the world in many ways.
“Namira Saleem’s work will show that Pakistan is a country that cares about peace and is moving forward,” he said.
