The government of KPK has announced that they will be distributing free tablets to the students and teachers. This step has been taken to ensure that students and teachers both can receive and provide quality education in times such as these. Online education is now a very formidable method, one which has been used vividly in the last two years.
The idea to distribute free of costs tablets to students, and teachers is to ensure that everyone gets their education. In the case of the online mode of education, there have been many cases in which students in the rural areas or from the lower classes of Pakistan, have not been able to receive their education because of the lack of mediums i.e. Phones, Laptops, Tablets.
Now, with the help of this, students will be able to learn and teachers will not also have to worry about not being able to provide quality education.
“Provision of quality education in the province is the top priority of the government. 25,000 teachers to be recruited to fulfill the shortage,” said the head of the project. He also added, ‘’This project will have a budget of about 1 Billion PKR.
This will prove to be very beneficial for teachers because, once again with the uncertain times that we have been living in, teachers also had to constantly worry about having a medium through which they would provide education. Not everyone has a phone or a tablet, and in most households in Pakistan, only one family member generally has a smart device, with a cellular connection. By this, we mean the lower-income families.
With this initiative by the government of KPK, almost everyone will be able to receive an education. Furthermore, this will boost the morale of students, and teachers.
Contrary to the belief that the internet and smart devices are misleading for students, the ones who want to learn something can with the help of the internet. YouTube is full of informative videos, on all subjects.
This will help increase the knowledge of the students and give them a place to be able to learn and grow. They can also play a lot of games, which are also a source of education.
All in all, the step was taken by the government of KPK to distribute tablets to students, and teachers have to be appreciated, and we hope that other governments also take this as a source of inspiration and do the same for their respective provinces.
