Lums celebrated the Bollywood theme according to which students were dressed up as different Indian characters. They have been criticized by Social Media differently. Some favored their theme as it was just organized for them, particularly so that they could have a ‘fun day’ whereas some were just totally not loving it.
Twitter is here for all kinds of responses.

Pakistanis are getting triggered by this video from LUMS because as a nation we are ANTI FUN. Being happy is prohibited. The violence of Ertugral is more suited to our sorry taste. pic.twitter.com/f0NxDHd0eS

Why do students from LUMS look & act like that? No Naheed, you don't have to dress up as a churail for "Bollywood Day", you're already a churail.

This tweet did get a reply on by Shama Junejo.
These kids only celebrated Bollywood Day, I loved the fun they had. What’s wrong in it? Let them live a few happy years of their lives before they are trapped in mundane situations of of practical life when in jobs. #LUMS pic.twitter.com/VkuomvlDnR

This function has been criticized by the majority of people on Twitter. But the question arises is it really wrong to criticize those who ae just having a fun day by just adopting certain characters? Or is it totally alright to just have a random fun day? Or it is totally a LUMS-centric problem?
Twitter has all the answers to your questions.
I honestly do not understand the hate for LUMS. People are having issues with students having fun on costume day. Smh!

These individuals seem to genuinely believe that "making to the lums" is a feat. They exist in a cocoon of their own fantasy. https://t.co/kYxQNottdN

Tim Hortons and Lahore both being in Lahore have been targeted by the people.
First Tim Hortons and now this LUMS video. This is exactly what is wrong with Pakistan. The Economic inequality in Pakistan is increasing by every passing day. People tend to hate what they can’t be because envy is all they have left.

absolutely loving how many people are triggered by the Bollywood Day at LUMS while the same people download Bollywood films at home and droll over their actors.
Let people live and have fun. there is way too much misery in our country as it is.

We are not training our minds , sorry to say but we are training our list to the fullest.
Such institutes, including #LUMS , shan't be allowed to overshadow the cultural & traditional ethics. https://t.co/CoEul80Pbd— Sana khan Nadeem (@SanaInParadise) February 20, 2023

Unpopular opinion but LUMS is in the wrong here with the Bollywood day thing. We are living in Pakistan, we are not supposed to have any fun, just meltdowns over Twitter and killing random people for baseless charges.
Joy is a sin

People have been favoring this event differently.

MORE POWER TO LUMS STUDENTS who celebrated Bollywood day. Being happy & enjoying life is an act of resistance in this joyless country. Conservative bigots are irked because u celebrated culture & art, unlike their fav Orya Maqbool Jan who's inciting hatred on his Twitter account.

In a nutshell, the institute alone is not and never responsible for determining whether or not they want to have a day like this at the end of the day. In order for students to take a break from their stressful day-to-day routines at various institutes, they celebrate a variety of events and days on an annual basis, such as the day with a Bollywood theme.
